Good to see @christian_beach today...shot a video near Trenton, NJ, for “Missing Link” off his latest album, Basement Noise. Look for it soon.
Six years ago today, my wife went into labor around 6:00 a.m. as an overnight rain started changing over to sleet and snow. Any later and we probably would’ve been driving on icy roads to the hospital. Instead, we arrived there trouble-free. And less than two hours later, after the rain storm turned into a full-on major snow storm, our son Benjamin was born. Fitting that he was born during a fluky weather event that went from torrential rain to 10 inches of snow.
Fantastic start to the day!
A more complete view of my makeshift home studio space. My keyboard rig, instruments and storage — oh, and my seats from Veterans Stadium — are separated from my work area by curtains since I am not putting walls up in my basement. This way, if I return to podcasting/webcasting, I’ll have those as a backdrop and not messy clutter in the background.
Update on the studio project...these are all cheap materials and I retrofitted an old room divider to turn it into an acoustical wall. I can position it to make that little area semi-isolated for vocals, etc. But the sound is noticeably better in that space...not much, but it sounds cleaner to me.
Someone is live-streaming NWS Philly weather information via an old WeatherSTAR 4000, The Weather Channel’s 2nd-generation weather information system that provided forecasts on the national network to local cable companies. It’s even set to smooth jazz! This is now rivaling WandaVision for my favorite current TV show. You can watch it at https://youtu.be/96g2fILDu74
